Section 27. Measures for National Exploitation. —

Measures for the rational exploitation of fisheries and other aquatic resources may include, but shall not be limited to, the following:

  1. undertaking manpower and expertise development;

  2. acquiring the necessary facilities and equipment;

  3. regulating the marketing of threatened species of fish or other aquatic resources;

  4. reviewing all existing rules and regulations on the exploitation of fisheries and aquatic resources with a view of formulating guidelines for the systematic and effective enforcement thereof; and

  5. conserving the vanishing species of fish and aquatic resources such as turtles, sea snakes, crocodiles, corals, as well as maintaining the mangrove areas, marshes and inland waters, coral reef-areas and islands serving as sanctuaries for fish and other aquatic life.
