Article 418. Any physical injuries not falling within the preceding articles, and which shall incapacitate the offended party for labor for eight days or more, or shall make medical attendance necessary for the same period, shall be deemed to be less serious physical injuries, and shall be punished by arresto mayor, or by destierro and a fine of not less than three hundred and twenty-five and not more than three thousand two hundred and fifty pesetas, in the discretion of the court.

Whenever any less serious physical injuries shall have been inflicted with the manifest intent to insult or offend the injured person, under circumstances adding ignominy to the offense, a fine of not less than three hundred and twenty-five and not more than three thousand two hundred and fifty pesetas shall be imposed in addition to the penalty of arresto mayor.
