Section 24. Emergency Measures. —

Where it is evident that food originating from within the country or imported from another country is likely to constitute serious risk to human health, the Board, in coordination with the FSRAs of the DOH and the DA, shall immediately adopt one or more of the following measures, depending on the gravity of the situation:

  1. In the case of food of national origin:

    1. Suspension of its distribution in the market or the use of the food in question;

    2. Laying down special conditions for the food in question; and

    3. Any other appropriate interim measures.

  2. In the case of food from another country:

    1. Suspension of imports of the food from all or parts of the third country concerned and, where applicable, from the third country of transit;

    2. Laying down special conditions for the food in question from all or part of the third country concerned; and

    3. Any other appropriate interim measures.
